from troilus and cressida
by william shakespeare
Adapted from one of Shakespeare's least performed plays, this new production, presented as a staged reading, discards the love story of Troilus and Cressida in favor of a focus on the better known events surrounding Agamemnon, Ajax, Hector and Achilles. In the 7th year of the Trojan War, the Trojans debate whether to return the dangerously beautiful captive, Helen, or continue to fight without end. The Greek heroes fight amongst themselves as the continued war takes its toll. Nations and individuals alike do battle in this piercing drama about revenge in a world at war.
